San Marcos (Oct 20-23)

Lost River Film Fest will return to our longtime anchor venue, the lovely & historic Price Center, just one block from the downtown Square. While we will not finalize the entire program until August, a few confirmed highlights include: on Thursday, Oct 20, our Opening Night film EVERYBODY WANTS SOME – the Richard Linklater stoner comedy shot in San Marcos; on Saturday, Oct 22, a feature presentation of RICOCHET, a documentary showcasing the work of the Public Defender Office in San Francisco – shown alongside the Chief Attorney of that office, Matt Gonzales –  when a newly elected Donald Trump makes one of their defendants nationally known in an attempt to push his radical anti-immigrant agenda; and on Sunday, Oct 23, a special screening of TO THE END, a film that premiered at Sundance this year, chronicling the rise of leaders of the Green New Deal, featuring Q&A from associate producer & recent Texas State University grad, Karen Gaytán. In addition to screenings all four days at the Price Center, the San Marcos Public Library will host screenings (free) on Sat, Oct 22, as will the stately Performing Arts Center on campus (ticketed) on Sun, Oct 23.
