For a 7th year, Lost River Film Fest returns to Hays County from Oct 12-15, 2023 with a robust offering of new, independent cinema – culled from across the planet –WITH ADJACENT EVENTS THROUGHOUT DOWNTOWN SAN MARCOS, TEXAS!

In celebration of the semi-centennial anniversary of its theatrical release, our Opening Night will feature a special viewing of THE GETAWAY, the fugitive heist thriller filmed in San Marcos in 1972, followed by a Garden Party.

All submissions to Lost River – via our Film Freeway here – were eligible for selection, at no extra cost, to both Endora Film Fest, held in Martindale, TX on Nov 3 & Lockhart, TX on Nov 5TH, AND Scrambled Genius Film Fest, held in Seguin on November 4TH.

We’ve been thrilled to work with many good people in neighboring Caldwell & Guadalupe counties to create one-day expositions that essentially constitute a ‘Best of the Fest’ from Lost River – but hosted in gorgeous, downtown theaters, built in 1921 & 1938, respectively!

We do not want personal wealth to determine who has access to wonderful indie cinema; if our tickets are beyond your budget, please email us here prior to October 10 to let us know which films you’d like to attend & we’ll add you to the guest list. If you can afford a ticket, please pony up, as we operate as a tiny non-profit in a not-particularly wealthy corner of Texas, doing what we can muster on a miniscule budget.
